The Seven Habits

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People

Habit 1: Be Proactive
"Habit 1 is the key to unlocking all the other habits and that's why it comes first. It says, "I am the captain of my life. I can choose my attitude. I'm responsible for my own happiness or unhappiness. I am in the driver's seat of my destiny, not just a passenger."
Reflection: Being involved with the outside world is key to helping you become an effective person. People who are truly involved and proactive are more aware of different things and can help change you as a person. Never leave things for the last minute because you won't be able to accomplish them greatly.

Habit 2: Begin with the end in mind
"Control your own destiny or someone else will." (Jack Welch)

Reflection: Begin with your final picture in mind this will help you get a clear understanding of what your goal is and what you need to do to accomplish this. Having the end in mind will help you see the big picture and help guide you easily to your end goal.

Habit 3: Put First Things First
"Organize and execute around priorities."
Reflection: People who are always reading for things and have their priorities organized become great people. These people do not lose time because they were unorganized they are always ready for the next thing. They know what must do first and what is will take to do this. Always be ready for what comes first and you will be a highly effective person.
Habit 4: Think Win-Win
"Think win-win or no deal."
Reflection: Thinking in a positive state of mind will help you succeed. Believing you are a winner will help you be a winner, thinking you can accomplish something is the best inspiration you can get. Think like a winner and you will be a winner.

Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, then to be Understood
"Diagnose before you prescribe."

Reflection: Knowing your priorities first and what you wish to accomplish will help you understand what you want. It is important to know what you want in order to complete them and for you to be able to explain to people what you want. Never leave something incomplete because people do not understand your end goal and because they cannot help you. Help yourself first before you try to teach others.

Habit 6: Synergize
"The whole is greater than the sum of its parts (1+1=3)"
Reflection: Working together in a team is better than what the outcome is. Teamwork allows you to learn more and meet new people. You're allowed to work with different minds and opinions.

Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw
" Four dimensions of Self-Renewal: Physical, Mental, Spiritual, Social /Emotional"
Reflection: To be highly effective you must make sure you are effective mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. This will allow you to do your best all the time and expect good outcomes.

Final Reflection: All of these are very crucial habits we must take account to in our everyday life to encourage a very good effective life. If you want to be an effective person take into consideration changing your life. Make your priorities first this will help you chnage your life a little better.

Winter Break

                         School Break Reflection
During my winter vacations I was able to enjoy many fun things. I stayed at home many times but I also went out with my family. I got to enjoy Disneyland on the first day of my vacations. Disneyland was very fun and exciting since it had been nine years I had gone to Disneyland. During my trip to Disneyland I got to experience new rides and see many new attractions they had. I also went to the movies many times during my break. I watched several movies such as Star Wars, Sisters, The Good Dinosaur, and Goosebumps. Besides Movies and Disneyland I also went bowling with friends and went out to eat several times. I did not meet anyone new but I did get to see my sister and her daughters during my break. They flew in from Nebraska and I got to spend some time with them. I didn’t do much book reading but I did do some reading for my homework. Overall my winter vacations were great.
